ECEAP Custodial Services Coordinator (Temporary)

 

Position Title:            Custodial Services Coordinator

Pay Rate:                    $18.00 to $20.00 an hour

Reports To:                Center Manager

Position Summary: 

Provide daily and ongoing cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, grounds keeping, and janitorial services to EPIC Place ECEAP classrooms in accordance with established health and safety standards, ensuring work complies with ECEAP performance standards, USDA requirements, state licensing requirements and agency policies and procedures. 

 

Benefits:

• 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked 

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Degree or GED.
2. Must have ability to do record keeping and basic arithmetic.
3. Two years previous custodial experience, with knowledge of sprinkler systems; minor repairs; appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, and proper health and safety practices.
4. Ability to physically operate floor stripper, buffer & carpet shampooer
5. Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
6. Posses a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation and required auto insurance.

 

Essential Job Functions:

General Cleaning:

Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the center. Duties include emptying garbage, replacing liners, vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets, mopping floors, cleaning sinks, counters, mirrors, doors, and windows. Disinfect restrooms, refill dispensers, and ensure all areas are tidy and presentable.

Restrooms:
Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, and surfaces twice daily. Restock supplies, mop floors, and maintain a hygienic environment. Strip and wax floors as needed.

Entryways, Hallways & Offices
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot clean all areas. Wipe down doors, railings, and surfaces. Maintain mats and windows. Shampoo carpets and strip/wax floors periodically.

Kitchen:
Assist kitchen staff with garbage removal and floor cleaning. Wash trash cans and clean windows and doors as needed.

Building Security:
Ensure the facility is secure by turning off lights, locking all doors and windows, setting alarms, and securing playground gates after hours.

Maintenance:
Perform minor repairs, replace light bulbs, maintain HVAC filters, and keep custodial areas organized. Monitor and order supplies as needed.

Outdoor Areas:
Keep walkways and lawns clean and safe. Sweep sidewalks, remove debris, mow lawns, maintain playground equipment, and ensure safe conditions during winter by removing snow and ice. Maintain sprinkler systems and wash exterior surfaces and trash cans as needed.

Conditions of Employment:

1. Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, TB skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
2. Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment at no cost to the employee.
3. Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
4. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
5. Current First Aid/CPR card obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
6. Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
7. Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
8. CEO Approval.
