Position Title: Family Advocate (ECEAP) - Temporary
Pay Level: $ 19.46 to $22.96 Hourly
Reports To: Center Manager
Position Summary:
To promote family engagement and provide family support, health and nutrition services through collaborative, strength-based partnerships with parents. Engage in regular communications with parents and children; provide education, information, and support using home visits, parent contacts, parent meetings and monthly newsletters. Ensure that all work is done in accordance with the service delivery plan, ECEAP Performance Standards, USDA requirements, state licensing requirements and agency policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist the Team Leader in providing developmentally and linguistically appropriate instruction for children.
Support individualized learning, recognizing children’s unique interests, backgrounds, and learning styles.
Function as part of a collaborative teaching team in the classroom.
Follow all agency policies, procedures, and ECEAP Performance Standards.
Assist with lesson plan implementation and classroom activities.
Support the completion of developmental assessments and health screenings.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, records, and reports.
Ensure a safe, healthy, and sanitary environment; supervise children at all times.
Promote and follow procedures for Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Guidance, and Active Supervision.
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or access emergency services when needed.
Promote a culture of safety and participate in EPIC’s “Speak Up, Speak Out” program.
Participate in classroom staffing meetings and apply feedback from ECEAP coaching sessions.
Assist in developing monthly newsletters and classroom communication.
Conduct required home visits and maintain family contact within required timelines.
Recruit and enroll families, ensuring eligibility and accurate documentation.
Maintain and update Child and Family Files and ELMS database entries.
Support families in obtaining current well-child and dental exams.
Coordinate health activities, referrals, and follow-up as needed.
Connect families to community resources such as health care, food, clothing, and transportation.
Assist families in identifying and reaching goals through the Mobility Mentoring process.
Attend family nights, parent meetings, and center events.
Provide translation support for staff and families, as needed.
Participate in professional growth, training, and development opportunities.
Assume classroom leadership and management responsibilities in the absence of the Team Leader.
