Position Title: Food Service Floater (East Valley)
Pay Level: $17.30 to $17.82
Reports To: ECEAP Center Manager
Position Summary:
Perform a wide range of duties involved with food service. Transporting food from vendor’s kitchen to ECEAP sites and preparing the food and/or serving the food in one or more of a variety of food service environments as appropriate to the position. Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, and dishes. Ensuring all work is done in accordance with the ECEAP performance standards, USDA requirements, licensing requirements and agency policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
- HS/GED
- 18 Years of Age
- At least one (1) year work experience with young children
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
- Valid Food Handlers card
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with other team members, ability to grasp a team centered approach to delivery of services for children and families.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments to meet program requirements. Ability to complete work assignments in an organized, efficient, timely and accurate manner, paying strong attention to detail.
Essential Job Functions:
- Timely transport of food from vendor’s kitchen. This may involve using personal car and/ or EPIC carts.
- Timely transport food carrier items back to vendor’s kitchen as needed.
- Prepare food cart for timely delivery to each classroom: Put food in serving dishes according to CACFP portion size, provide dishware, utensils and serving items (napkins etc.) on the food cart. Provide the classroom with appropriate items for food disposal and rinsing of dishes.
- Track and maintain appropriate food temperature from pick up at vendor’s kitchen through food cart delivery to each classroom. Track and maintain appropriate refrigerator temperature.
- Date all food items, delivered and prepared.
- Follow all CACFP guidelines and funding source requirements for food service.
- Pick-up carts from classrooms after meals/snacks and prepare dishes for dishwasher. Run and empty dishwasher to maintain a supply of dishware and utensils needed, at a minimum, for next meal/snack.
- Maintain appropriate storage of food and disposal of unused and orderly environment. Daily sanitize and disinfect food service areas include cupboards, cabinets, sinks, dishwasher, food carts, etc.
- Notify supervisor in a timely manner of the need for additional food service supplies and items.
- Maintain a safe, healthy and sanitary environment ensuring that children are supervised at all times; Respond quickly to crisis or emergency situations that may occur; provide first aid, CPR, and access to emergency services as needed
- Actively participate in family nights, parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development opportunities and all relevant center activities.
- Be committed to characterizing a culture of safety within our centers/sites, playgrounds, buses and anywhere that children may be present. Be familiar with and encourage EPICs culture of “Speak up, Speak out”.
- Assist in the classroom as needed.
Conditions of Employment:
- Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
- Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
- Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
- Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
- Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
- Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within thirty 30 days of employment).
- Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
- Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
- Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
- CEO Approval.
