Position Title: Transportation Assistant (ECEAP)
Pay Level: $17.30 to $18.34 Hourly (9-month position)
Reports To: Center Manager
Position Summary:
Ensure that the children are transported in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner. Ensuring that the work is done in accordance with the service delivery plan, ECEAP Performance Standards, State licensing requirements, and agency policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
- HS/GED required
- At least one (1) year of work experience with young children
- At least 18 years of age
- Basic computer proficiency preferred
- Familiarity with the ethnic background and heritage of families served in EPIC programs
- Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure that children enter and exit the bus in a safe manner, remain seated while bus is in motion, and assure that children are released to listed authorized person(s) in accordance with EPIC Policies.
- Assure that age appropriate guidance and activities for children are maintained on the bus, in accordance with agency standards.
- Remain with the children in case of an emergency while the bus driver seeks help.
- Relay communications between home and school to appropriate parent and staff.
- Communicate regularly with parents, encouraging them to attend school events and to become involved in the center.
- Attend all trainings and meetings as required.
- Transportation Assistants working two (2) bus runs daily will participate in the classroom. May work up to 40 hours per week, including time on the bus.
- Complete required paperwork as assigned, including attendance roster and absentee slips.
- May need to assist in other areas when needed.
- Maintain a safe, healthy and sanitary environment ensuring that children are supervised at all times; respond quickly to crisis or emergency situations that may occur; provide first aid, CPR, and access emergency services as needed.
- While in the classroom, assist in implementing classroom activities and preparing materials and supplies.
- Implement, support, and promote policies and procedures for Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Guidance and Active Supervision.
- Actively participate in center family nights, parent meetings, staff meetings, professional development opportunities and all relevant center activities.
Conditions of Employment:
- Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
- Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
- Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
- Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
- Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
- Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within thirty 30 days of employment).
- Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
- Meet the minimum education requirements within the timeframe as stated in the performance standards.
- Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.
- CEO Approval.
